Kaci Patterson
Founder and Chief Architect
Kaci Patterson is the Founder & Chief Architect of Social Good Solutions (SGS), a Black woman-owned and majority-operated firm in Los Angeles, CA. Kaci brings 25 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors and is widely recognized for her expertise in equity-centered grantmaking and community-driven design. Since its founding, the firm has raised and leveraged over $86M for Black-led organizations in California, making SGS the largest mobilizer of philanthropic resources for Black-led nonprofits in the state. Kaci also serves as Co-Executive Director for the LA Partnership for Early Childhood Investment, where she provides organizational strategy and leadership. In addition, Kaci leads philanthropic engagement for the LA County African American Infant and Maternal Mortality Prevention Initiative (AAIMM), a public-private-community partnership working to advance joyous and healthy births for Black mothers and families in LA County. In its first five years, Kaci helped to secure over $9M in private philanthropic investment for the initiative, increasing public investment in AAIMM by nearly 5,000% over the same period. She is also the Founder and Chief Architect of the Black Equity Collective, a network of Black-led and empowering organizations and funders joined as partners in strengthening the long-term sustainability of Black-led organizations. Kaci serves on the board of Catalyst California and the advisory board of the CA Black Freedom Fund, an endeavor she helped to co-found in 2020. From 2014 to 2022 she served as an appointed state commissioner with the California Department of Consumer Affairs. In January 2025, Kaci joined the Board of Directors of the California Wellness Foundation, where she will focus on amplifying community leadership in decision-making. A recognized leader in civic engagement, Kaci was selected in 2019 for the inaugural class of The Aspen Institute Civil Society Fellowship and is now an active member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She holds an MBA in Organizational Management and Leadership from the University of La Verne and is a graduate of Pepperdine University.
